What is The Arts Society?
Founded in 1968 by Patricia Fay, The Arts Society is an arts-based charity, with over 90,000 members in 340 local Decorative and Fine Art Societies in the UK and Mainland Europe. All The Arts Society Societies subscribe to the aims and objects of the National Association, namely the advancement of arts education and appreciation and the preservation of our artistic heritage for the benefit of the public.
These aims are achieved through a programme of lectures on the fine and decorative arts in the widest sense, special interest days, visits, and tours and through volunteering activities, carried out by Church Recorders, Heritage Volunteers and Young Arts groups.
