Visit to St Bartholomew's Museum and Chapel and St John's Gate 22nd January 2013
Undeterred by the deep snow in Harpenden in January, the visit to St John’s Gate, Clerkenwell
and St.Bartholomew’s Museum and Chapel went ahead and was a great success. The fascinating museum
collection at the hospital and Hogarth’s painting on the grand staircase were a prelude to the
‘Historic Jewel in the City of London.’ The excellent guides made the history of the ‘Order of
St.John and the Hospitaller Brothers’ live.
